Hi Bucket Listers.
I want to share a quote with you. In 2023, Alberto Ibarguen, who once published the Miami Herald then was former president of the Knight Foundation said “Whatever your first priority … journalism needs to be your second, because trustworthy information, most often locally sourced, is essential to achieving any of these other important goals.”
Bucket List’s Impact
As we move into the second week of our #newsCOneeds fundraiser consider how local news makes a difference for you and magnifies the issues you care about.
Are you concerned about food insecurity? Development and gentrification? Immigration? Cost of Living? Street Safety?
Community news amplifies these issues and encourages community discussion, so we work together to solve problems and put pressure on our leaders to address them.
Are you interested in small businesses? Health care? Education? The unhoused? The environment? Arts and Culture?
Community news shines a spotlight on all of these, so we connect our neighbors and work towards fairness for everyone and a more vibrant Denver area.
We go into the neighborhoods, talk to people whose voices are seldom heard on the news, listen and share our reports with you for free. Not just online, but with newsletters, social media, and our monthly radio program on KGNU.
We meet you where you are. Here are just a few stories produced by Bucket List Community Cafe that you won’t see anywhere else.
