At Sunnyside United Neighbors, Inc. (SUNI), we believe an informed neighborhood is a thriving one. As a volunteer-led nonprofit, SUNI brings together residents, businesses, schools, and faith-based organizations within the boundaries of Sunnyside in Historic Northwest Denver. We work with local government and community boards, host neighborhood events and fundraisers, offer scholarships, and support local businesses and nonprofits—all in service of a more connected and empowered Sunnyside.
Our mission is to unite neighbors of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to plan for the future, improve the present, and honor the past of our vibrant community.
SUNI strives to:
- Create and promote a positive image of the neighborhood
- Foster a strong sense of community
- Take pride in and responsibility for our shared spaces
- Collaborate with neighboring associations to support Northwest Denver and the city of Denver as a whole
- Encourage widespread community involvement
