Her husband had just lost his job in Mexico, leading them and their three-month-old baby to seek opportunities in the Denver metro area. Despite her lack of English and shifting circumstances, Valdez could often be seen serving food to the homeless." "We learned that a lot of the people who are unhoused today have had a brain injury,” said Jeff Martinez of Brothers Redevelopment. “A lot of individuals who have been in jail or in corrections have experienced a brain injury.” Valor on the Fax is working to help these individuals find stable housing that offers the resources and assistance necessary to individuals with brain injuries. Our @bootsnap visited the residence to learn more. #communityhousing #localnews #communityjournalism We’re all set at the #sunnysidemusicfestival . Come say hello to your community journalists!
